Jakarta – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. in collaboration with Financial Service Authority (OJK) and The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) launched zakat payment system through Laku Pandai agents.

BNI ensure through this program, people can pay zakat through agents of Laku Pandai or Agent 46 in several regions across Indonesia. So far there have been 55,000 Agent 46 who are ready to receive the payments of people in several remote areas.

The launching of zakat payment through Laku Pandai agents was held on June 14, 2017. Director of BNI Achmad Baiquni attended the event accompanying the President Joko Widodo. “The zakat payment service through Agent 46 is aimed to ease people,” said Achmad in the press release on Wednesday (14/06).

Agent 46 is an extension of BNI in providing good banking services to people who do not have access to banking services. The agents of Laku Pandai BNI also brought banking services closer to the community.

Through Agent 46, the public can open an account, do cash withdrawal, purchase phone credits and electricity tokens, and pay monthly bills such as electricity bills, PDAM, and zakat without having to visit BNI outlets.

BNI's customers are now able to distribute zakat through Baznas using BNI ATM, SMS banking, mobile banking, and internet banking. The average total zakat collection of BAZNAS over the past year amounted to Rp27 billion. BAZNAS has been being BNI's customer since 2005 with a total of muzaki of Central BAZNAS are now 20,000 muzaki.
