Wednesday (23/08). Puskas BAZNAS had the opportunity to present two papers in 2nd Annual Islamic Finance Conference with the theme of "The Role of Islamic Finance in Eradicating Poverty and Income Inequality" Yogyakarta, August 23 -24, 2017. The papers was the research findings of zakat distribution effectiveness programs by BAZNAS in eliminating poverty during 2016.

The goal of the seminar is to promote discussion on the application of theory, model and instruments of Islamic finance to overcome socio-economic problems in developing countries including Indonesia. Furthermore, the conference aims to discuss a set of policies combined with the principles of Islamic finance that can be together tackling poverty and income inequality problems.

The seminar is held by the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with the Islamic Research and Training Institute and the Islamic Development Bank Group (IRTI-IDBG), the National Islamic Finance Committee (KNKS) and the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economist (IAEI). This conference is also supported by the World Bank Jakarta and the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University.

Puskas BAZNAS was awarded as the winner of the best paper "The Best Paper" in an international seminar held by the Ministry of Finance
