PUSKASBAZNAS. COM - Center of Strategic Studies, The National  Board of Zakat ( Puskas BAZNAS) On March 12th -15th, 2018, who represented by M.Quraisy, Ph.D. visited South Sulawesi Province to measure the Zakat Village Index (IDZ) in Rannaloe Village in Gowa regency; Cambaya Village, Makassar city; Tompobulu Village, Maros regency; Cillellang Village, Barru regency.
 
The first visit with  Mr.Agus Nafi (from LAZ Al Azhar) is to measure IDZ in Rannaloe Village, Gowa regency. It is also the village that has been managed and taken care by LAZ Al Azhar (Al Azhar Zakat Management Institution) that located in the mountains that have enough natural resources and beautiful scenery. The majority of the populations work as farmers. Most of the natural resources produced in Rannaloe are corn, brown sugar, ganyong flour, honey, and rice. Meanwhile, the beautiful nature of the mountains encourages villagers to make a selfie spot as a tourist destination for both domestic and foreign tourists. It is expected that the Zakah funds from ZCD (Zakat for Core Development) program can further improve the economic quality of the community in the village.
 
 
Moreover, Cambaya Village which located in Makassar City has a potential in the marine product although the village considers as a slum area and less good in terms of health. The economic background of the people in the Cambaya village is mostly the lower middle class whereas the majority of the population are earning their income as fishermen. The featured potential product of Cambaya village is related to fisheries such as tuna fish, milk-fish, and barracuda fish. It is expected that Zakah funds from ZCD program can help to improve the economy and health dimension of the village community.
 
 
Meanwhile, in Tompobulu Village, Maros Regency, the majority of people's economic life is ranging from middle to lower class. Also the majority of the population work as farmers. The natural potential of Tompobulu village is related to agriculture where they can produce superior products such as corn, banana chips, rice, and chili. In the future, it is expected that Zakah funds from the ZCD program can help improve the economic life and education aspect of the villagers.
 
Lastly, Cilellang Village which located in Barru Regency where the majority of its people work as fishermen and farmers. The natural potential products of Cilellang village is related to fishery which is Anchovy and Cakalang Fish as well as agricultural products such as corn, crops, rice, and watermelon. It is expected that Zakah funds from ZCD program can help improve the economic life and health dimension of the village community.
