Beting village is one of the villages located in the meranti archipelago. The village is located in the District of Rangsang Pesisir can be achieved by using a speedboat with the distance of approximately 1 hour. As a village on the edge of the ocean, this village is still difficult to get access to clean water. So they use rain-fed water as their source of clean water. If in the dry season they will use reddish-brown peat water instead of water for use in hygiene activities. Like bathing, washing even for consumption. There are also several wells drilled by some residents, but the water from the well is thick brown so it is necessary to procure the infrastructure for access to clean water in this village.

For economic activities, most of the people in this village depend on their income from the coconut harvest that is sold to the neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Brunei darussalam. The average yield of coconuts in the village of beting can reach 15,000 seeds. But the villagers are hard on sales, so they deposit all the crops to one collector in order to sell all the crops they get in the day. Apart from being a coconut farmer, many villagers are also working as casual laborers in neighboring countries.

The Beting village is also developing mangrove forests funded by village funds as one of the tourism destinations of the meranti islands. But the problem that occurs is the absence of permanent ports as entry access so it is rather difficult to develop mangrove tourism destination. Existing harbors are often exposed to annual tidal water that causes damage. So it is expected that more attention from the local government for the development of infrastructure of this village.
