Banda Aceh (15/10) Puskas BAZNAS Director's, Dr. Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal became the speaker at the "Tarjih Meeting on Fiqh Zakat" with the theme of "Making Islam Progress for Welfare of Ummah". This event was organized by the Majlis Tarjih Muhammadiyah and the Regional Government of Aceh Darussalam Province which took place in Hermes Hotel, from 14-18 October 2019.

Present as the keynote speakers The Governor of Aceh Province, Nova Iriansyah, and the Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Haedar Nashir. Also present as a guest speaker were Chairman of the Majlis Tarjih PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Syamsul Anwar, representative from MUI Prof. Dr. Jaih Mubarak, Representative from UIN Ar-Rainiry Prof. Dr. Syahrizal Abbas, LAZISMU Executive Director Dr. Hilman Lathief, DPS LAZISMU Dr. Hamim Ilyas and others. In addition, this event was also attended by all representatives of Majlis Tarjih Muhammadiyah provinces throughout Indonesia.

For 1.5 hours, Puskas BAZNAS Director's talked about "Zakat Core Principles". He explained from various angles and dimensions, such as the history of ZCP, the contributions of Indonesia and BAZNAS in ZCP, ZCP forming methodology, purpose and urgency of ZCP for zakat management in Indonesia, aspects of zakat regulations contained in ZCP, asnaf provisions contained in ZCP, details of the principles from ZCP 1 to ZCP 18, and detailed what must have to do, to implement ZCP in Indonesia, he separated the checklist document into two, for BAZNAS (as a regulator, coordinator and operator) and LAZ (as operator only).

In addition, on that occasion he also answered various questions from the participants regarding the latest zakat management updates in Indonesia in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 23 year 2011 concerning Management of Zakat and its explanation in PP No. 14 year 2014. In the end of his presentation, the Director of Puskas BAZNAS hopes that all the results of the national tarjih meeting held for 4 days can produce progressive decisions of the zakat management in Indonesia and can further strengthen the legitimacy of the role of zakat in poverty alleviation in Indonesia.
