Being separated from the river that flows in various regions in North Kalimantan Province did not dampen the spirit of the mustahik BAZNAS of North Kalimantan Province to attend the survey and interview to study the impact of zakat. Located in North Kalimantan Province BAZNAS, 13 mustahik attended on 5 December 2019. This relatively small amount is due from the high transportation costs that must be spent by mustahik to arrive at Tanjung Selor. These mustahik in general are mustahik consumptive beneficiaries such as health and education.

BAZNAS of North Kalimantan Province itself has several excellent programs such as Kaltara Sehat and Kaltara Cerdas. This program aims to improve the welfare of mustahik through educational assistance to mustahik who do not have the cost to continue their education or to participate in training to improve the competence of educators and health assistance for mustahik who do not have access to social safety network systems such as BPJS Kesehatan.

The event opened with remarks by Deputy Field 1 and 2, Mr. H. Yusransyah and continued with remarks from Puskas BAZNAS namely Dita Anggraini. Dita conveyed the importance of the survey to assess the impact of zakat as a form of accountability of BAZNAS on the extent to which the benefits of zakat funds that have been channeled to Mustahik provide benefits and increased welfare in the North Kalimantan region. Furthermore, interviews and explanations for filling out the questionnaire were conducted by Adhitya Kusuma Zaenardi. This questionnaire contains some information needed to calculate the BAZNAS welfare index.
