The International Journal of Zakat (IJAZ) Vol. 5 No. 1 2020 calls for paper is officially closed at the beginning of June 2020. The authors who are from across at least eight different countries have submitted their manuscripts. The topics have been varied discussing both theoretical and practical insights of zakat administration around the globe.

The scientific committee of IJAZ has selected twelve papers from the submission for IJAZ Vol. 5 No. 1 and No. 2 special issue on zakat administration worldwide.

IJAZ’s first call for papers in 2020 has decided several topics that are expected to be covered by the authors. The number of ten topics as follows was raised during the recent call for papers. These topics are;

  • Financial ratios of zakat institutions
  • The contribution of zakat to the sustainability of clean water and proper sanitation
  • A measure of Muzakki’s ability to zakat literacy
  • The role of zakat in mitigating the apostasy
  • The development of zakat literature
  • The use of relevant technology in zakat institutions  
  • The impact of zakat distribution on poverty alleviation
  • An overview of the concept of ‘Zakatnomics’
  • International contribution among zakat institution to address the issue of global poverty
  • Indicators map the global zakat potential

It is expected that the selected papers will have their publication at the beginning of July 2020. Those papers are set to support IJAZ contributing to the growth zakat literature.
