On Tuesday (21/07), Puskas BAZNAS held an Online Training for the implementation of the National Zakat Index and Shariah Compliance Index Surveys in the West Papua Province. The National Zakat Index is an annual suvey held by Puskas BAZNAS to measure the zakat collection and distribution and impacts throughout Indonesia. This year, alongside the NZI survey Puskas BAZNAS is also introducing a new index which is the Shariah Compliance Index. The Shariah Compliance Index is a measurement tool which measures a zakat management instituiton’s level of compliance towards shariah.

The event was held online through the Zoom platform due to the current global pandemic. The event was offically opened with a welcoming speech from the Chairman of BAZNAS West Papua, H. Akhmad Gunawan SE,SH. This was then followed by a welcoming speech from Dr. Hasbi Zaenal, the Director of Puskas BAZNAS. The training was attended by the representatives from the BAZNAS West Papua provincial office and its respective city and district offices.

The training for NZI was presented by Adhitya Kusuma Zaenardi, SE. The training for the Shariah Compliance Index was presented by Arwa Violaditya Rarasocta S.KPm. The implementation of this survey will run throughout July until mid August.
