REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - After successfully launching the scholarship collaboration in May, the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) together with the Indonesia Scholarship Center (ISC) and the Surya Edukasi Bangsa Foundation (SEBAF) have continued to collaborate with the Post-Pandemic Scholarship Donation Program for the second batch. For the second batch of scholarship, some benefits are added. It also includes the cellular data plans, tuition fees, and other things needed to support the learning process such as cellphone and laptop.

The second batch of Post-Pandemic Scholarship Collaboration Program was launched in a press conference which was held online. Present at the event, the Chairman of BAZNAS, Prof. Dr. Bambang Sudibyo MBA. CA, Head of Distribution Division of BAZNAS, Ahmad Fikri, Executive Director of Indonesia Scholarship Center (ISC) Didin Nuruddin Hidayat, the representative of SEBAF, Herfindo Satria Gading, as well as invited guests. The press conf was broadcasted live through BAZNAS TV Youtube channel, on Wednesday (23/9).

The Head of BAZNAS Prof. Dr. Bambang Sudibyo MBA CA positively welcomed the continuation of this collaboration. According to him, By continuing this scholarship program, more and more children of the nation affected by the economy due to the pandemic can be helped to continue their education.

"Alhamdulillah, BAZNAS together with ISC and SEBAF can continue this good cooperation in an effort to maintain the continuity of education for underprivileged children through scholarship assistance. Don't let the pandemic become a barrier for the nation's successors to achieve their goals, "said Bambang in his remarks, Wednesday (23/9).

Bambang hopes that this collaboration will also encourage zakat institutions and other companies to participate in helping the education of the nation's children affected by the pandemic.

With the second batch of the Post-Pandemic Scholarship Donation Program, hopefully more and more people will help and care so that the future sustainability of the nation's children affected by the pandemic can be facilitated properly through this collaboration," concluded Bambang.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of the Indonesia Scholarship Center (ISC) Didin Nuruddin Hidayat said that the Indonesia Scholarship Center invited all parties, including corporations, entrepreneurs, media, and the public to care about education, to be involved in this very positive program in the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Now is the time for us to help, so that more Indonesian children will be saved from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. What we have today will be meaningless if it’s used for ourselves, we have to share, because change cannot be carried out alone. Let's take care of children's education in Indonesia, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

The management of SEBAF, Herfindo Satria Gading added, "We at the Surya Edukasi Bangsa Foundation (SEBAF) see that the pandemic has had a tremendous impact in various business sectors. So many layoffs occurred, many parents lost their jobs. Seeing this phenomenon, we are worried that the dropout rate in Indonesia will also increase. Therefore, SEBAF together with BAZNAS and ISC are united in carrying out this Post-Pandemic Scholarship program to help Indonesian children, and prevent the dropout rate risen, "said Findo Gading.
