The International Shariah Scholar from Malaysia, Datuk Dr Mohd. Daud Bakar (MDB) speaks at the 4th International Conference of Zakat (The 4th ICONZ) plenary session 2.

Datuk Dr Mohd. Daud Bakar, who is also The President of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), covers the topic of The Use of Technology in Zakat Management in time of New Normal COVID-19.

During his speech, MDB covers several points, which highlights the importance of digital transformation in zakat institutions. He believes that technology is future and the future is now. It is thus zakat management must use relevant technology. Amils of zakat institutions, according to his view, must be equipped with the relevant skill that is relevant to Industry 4.0. That is, the technology in zakat must be made easy for Amil use.

MDB, who is known with his book; Shariah Minds in Islamic Finance, notably in his speech at the 4th ICONZ plenary session 2, is expected to translate the theme of the 4th ICONZ; ZakaTech for inclusive development. His session can be watched here.
