On Monday (30/08/2021), Puskas BAZNAS held the first discussion of designing a zakat learning module with the Commissioner of BAZNAS and representatives from UI, UIN, and UNAIR. This inaugural discussion aims to formulate concepts and objectives as the first step in making zakat learning modules. The discussion began with a brief presentation on the initial concept of the zakat waqf learning module by the Commissioner of BAZNAS RI, Nadratuzzaman Hosen, Ph.D., and the Director of the Puskas BAZNAS, Dr. Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal.

The main event of the discussion started during the question and answer session. Each presenter gave their opinions and views on writing the zakat waqf learning module in this session. For example, Rahmatina, Ph.D. from UI, stated that writing a book on zakat learning modules is vital because there are only a few learning modules for subjects related to zakat. She also provided input regarding the need to determine readers' priority targets and make a roadmap for writing the zakat and waqf module. Furthermore, she added that making a book on zakat learning modules should not stop writing books but should be equipped with materials in the form of power points presentation.

Prof. M. Nur Rianto Al-Arif from UIN stated that before starting to write a book on zakat waqf learning modules, it is necessary to make a Learning Plan or RPS (Rencana Pengajaran Semester) first. He also stated that in the zakat learning module, it is necessary to include material on the fiqh of zakat because some students lack knowledge about these aspects.

The other participant is Prof. Raditya Sukmana from UNAIR. In the discussion session, Prof. Raditya explained the direction of making the zakat learning module. In his presentation, he stated that textbooks became more relevant for the module book. Prof. Raditya also added that macro-economics related to zakat should also be included in the learning module.

The discussion session was closed by the head of BAZNAS RI, Nadratuzzaman Hosen, Ph.D. He decided that the zakat waqf learning module would be a textbook with the priority target of readers being undergraduate students.
