An event titled Evaluation Training on 2023 National Zakat Index (IZN) Results for Strengthening Zakat Management 2024-2025 was held during the Coordination Meeting of BAZNAS Chairpersons across West Java (August 29) in Garut, West Java.
The event began with a session on ZIS DSKL Collection Strategy 2025, presented by Mr. Rizaluddin Kurniawan, Commissioner of BAZNAS RI for Zakat Collection and Regional Coordinator for West Java.
During the IZN presentation session, the BAZNAS Chairpersons across West Java expressed their support for the implementation of IZN as an empirical, measurable, and accountable instrument for strengthening zakat management.
Furthermore, the Chairperson of BAZNAS Kota Bandung emphasized the need for at least two special forums to discuss: (1) Evaluation, clarification, and follow-up actions from the previous year's IZN results, and (2) Socialization and technical guidance for filling out the IZN survey in the current year. This was agreed upon by the attending BAZNAS Chairpersons, considering the existing disparities in field understanding.
Additionally, Chairperson of BAZNAS Tasikmalaya Regency appreciated the benchmarking of Clustering in the IZN measurement and provided input for developing the Likert clustering related to collection based on population numbers in each region. This would allow BAZNAS clustering to more accurately reflect demographic-based collection conditions in a given area.
On Friday (August 30), the Plenary Session of the Coordination Meeting of BAZNAS Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons I in West Java agreed on the recommendation that BAZNAS at the provincial and district/city levels across West Java must fill out the 2024 IZN, as directed by the Chairperson of BAZNAS RI. It is hoped that the implementation of IZN will further strengthen zakat management in achieving the vision of The Main Institution for Prosperity of the Ummah.
