The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS RI) convened a Coordination Meeting for the Baitul Mal institutions across Aceh Province, focusing on planning, research, and development. The meeting, which addressed the National Zakat Index (IZN). The meeting was held in the second-floor hall of the Aceh Selatan Secretariat Office on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM WIB.
Dr. Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal, Director of Research and Development at BAZNAS RI, warmly welcomed the Coordination Meeting held in Tapaktuan, South Aceh Regency. The meeting culminated in the issuance of the Tapaktuan Declaration, a testament to the strong commitment of all Baitul Mal institutions across Aceh’s regencies and municipalities. The declaration outlined key resolutions, including:
- A commitment to undergo performance evaluations using the National Zakat Index (IZN).
- A readiness to be officially recognized as “Zakat-Friendly Regencies and Cities.”
- Utilization of IZN evaluation outcomes as a foundation for enhancing and evaluating the annual performance of zakat management.

Similarly, Muhammad Haikal, ST, The Chairman of Baitul Mal Aceh, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for the meeting in Tapaktuan, describing it as a long-awaited and much-needed event.
The proceedings unfolded in a solemn and spirited manner. It is anticipated that the South Aceh Regency Baitul Mal (BMK), serving as a role model and pilot project by BAZNAS RI through its implemented and planned programs, will inspire and set a benchmark for other BMKs throughout the region.
