Bengkulu, November 7, 2024 – The Technical Guidance (Bimtek) on the National Zakat Index (IZN) and Zakat Impact Assessment (KDZ) 2024, along with the Evaluation of IZN and KDZ 2023 Results for Bengkulu Province, was successfully conducted on Thursday, November 7, 2024. The event aimed to strengthen zakat management in Bengkulu while enhancing the understanding of IZN and KDZ concepts among zakat managers.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Chairman II and Acting Chairman of BAZNAS Bengkulu Province, Drs. Syubli, who expressed gratitude to BAZNAS RI for its continued support. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of performance evaluation and knowledge dissemination among zakat managers. “The performance evaluation of zakat managers must be widely understood, as many in Bengkulu are still unfamiliar with the National Zakat Index and Zakat Impact Assessment,” he stated. He also highlighted the significance of this initiative in fulfilling the mandate of Article 3 of Law No. 23 of 2011 on Zakat Management.
The first session featured a comprehensive presentation on the concepts of IZN and KDZ by Ms. Herlin. The session was interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions and raising insightful questions. The enthusiasm demonstrated by the participants reflected their strong interest and commitment to improving zakat management in the region.
After the Zuhur prayer break, the program resumed with a session on technical guidance for completing the IZN and KDZ 2024 forms, led by Ms. Indah. To energize the participants, the session began with an engaging Kahoot quiz, where prizes were awarded to the top three scorers. Following the quiz, participants worked on completing the IZN and KDZ forms under Ms. Indah’s direct supervision. By the end of the session, an impressive 73% of BAZNAS institutions in Bengkulu Province had successfully finalized their IZN submissions.
The event, which took place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, concluded with closing remarks from the Acting Chairman of BAZNAS Bengkulu Province. He expressed optimism that the knowledge and motivation gained during the session would significantly contribute to optimizing zakat management in Bengkulu. He further emphasized the hope that the enhanced capacity of zakat managers would lead to greater benefits for the community, amplifying zakat's role in addressing poverty and fostering sustainable development.
