The National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia has launched two strategic books, "Outlook Zakat Indonesia 2025" and "Zakat Economy Without Riba," as part of its efforts to position zakat as a primary instrument in improving the welfare of the ummah.
The books were unveiled during the 8th International Conference on Zakat (ICONZ) 2024 held at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
In his remarks, Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal, Ph.D., Director of ZIS-DSKL Research and Development at BAZNAS RI, emphasized that the two books represent BAZNAS's commitment to continuously enhancing zakat management systems to be more transparent and professional.
"These books are the result of collective hard work, not only reflecting the progress in zakat management but also providing strategic insights to elevate the role of zakat in the future," said Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal.
He explained that the book launches aim to raise public awareness and understanding of the importance of effective and sustainable zakat management.
"May these books serve as a form of amal jariyah for all of us. I hope academics will read them and use them as new references for advancing knowledge, particularly in the fields of zakat and Islamic philanthropy in Indonesia," he stated.
Hasbi further added that BAZNAS remains committed to improving zakat management to be transparent, accountable, and professional. This ensures that zakat becomes a strategic resource for poverty alleviation.
"Zakat holds immense potential to bolster the national economy. With proper management, zakat can serve as a catalyst for economic growth," he noted.
Additionally, BAZNAS RI continues to strive to raise public awareness and strengthen the infrastructure for zakat management, ensuring its optimal utilization.
"Through the launch of these books, BAZNAS RI hopes to broaden public knowledge and understanding of effective zakat management," he concluded.
