The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia has distributed aid to children and families from Gaza, Palestine, who are cancer survivors receiving treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in Jordan.

A total of 114 aid packages were distributed, consisting of stationery, toys, and pocket money. Previously, BAZNAS RI and KHCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in distributing aid worth IDR 2 billion, which will be disbursed in stages.

The aid distribution event was attended by BAZNAS RI's Head of Fundraising, H. Rizaludin Kurniawan, M.Si, CFRM; Deputy II for Distribution and Utilization, Dr. H.M. Imdadun Rahmat, M.Si; and representatives from the Indonesian Embassy in Jordan, Alamsyah (Minister Counsellor). The distribution was further supported by 12 scholarship recipients from BAZNAS on Sunday (December 29, 2024).

H. Rizaludin Kurniawan expressed his deep emotion and gratitude for being able to deliver aid to patients from Gaza, especially children suffering from cancer.

“We hope this assistance benefits the children battling cancer who are currently in the hospital,” Rizaludin said at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in Jordan.

He also extended his gratitude to the Indonesian Embassy in Jordan for accompanying the distribution process to Palestinian child cancer survivors.

“Our thanks go to the Indonesian Embassy in Jordan, represented by Alamsyah as Minister Counsellor, Muhammad Hartantyo as First Secretary, and Achmad Gunawan as staff in the Political Division, for their valuable support in this distribution,” Rizaludin said.

Meanwhile, Alamsyah, representing the Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan, expressed appreciation for BAZNAS RI’s support for Palestinian child cancer survivors in Jordan.

“We hope this assistance will bring broad benefits and joy to Palestinian children battling cancer in Jordan,” he remarked.

Alamsyah also thanked all Indonesians who contributed to aiding the Palestinian people through BAZNAS RI.
