The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) establish population data cooperation with the Directorate General of Civil Registry (Ditjen Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) in sharpening the target of zakat, infaq, and alms beneficiaries.

The cooperation signing was carried out by the Director General of Civil Service of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Zudan Arif Fakhrulloh and Director of BAZNAS, Arifin Purwakananta, witnessed by the Chairman of BAZNAS, Bambang Sudibyo at the BAZNAS Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (8/5).

BAZNAS Chairman Bambang Sudibyo said, this form of cooperation was the integration of the Mustahik Database System owned by BAZNAS with population data held by the Ministry of Home Affairs Directorate General of Civil Registry.

"This collaboration is a joint commitment to improve services to mustahik. With this synchronization, BAZNAS hopes that the target of beneficiaries will be more precise and the distribution will be more widespread," he said.

BAZNAS has also collaborated with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) in the integration of poverty data. With the additional data from the Directorate General of Civil Registry of the Ministry of Home Affairs, it certainly can increase the amount of data and accuracy of beneficiaries.

"This data integration will be used to run various BAZNAS empowerment programs for mustahik from various aspects ranging from economics, education, health, to social humanity," Bambang said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs Director General of Civil Engineering, Zudan Arif Fakhrulloh, said that the use of population databases must be used properly for the benefit of ummah, improving the economy and welfare of the mustahik.

"This database can discover the economic condition of a person, whether he/she needs assistance or not. Moreover, it can also see someone's generosity. Therefore we have to make sure and guarantee the data is safe and confidential. We can continue to use this data for the benefit of the ummah and also for the good of nation," he said.

The resulting cooperation between BAZNAS and the Ministry of Home Affairs is not only can discover more about the amount of mustahik data in Indonesia, this integration also helps BAZNAS to find out the number of muzaki through the use of the Population Identification Number (NIK), Population Data, and Electronic Identity Card (KTP-el)
