Jakarta, 13 January 2025 - Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) visited BAZNAS to coordinate the management of the Zakat Management Laboratory (LMZ). This visit aimed to strengthen the synergy between UMJ and BAZNAS in enhancing the capacity of students and the public in professional and technology-based zakat management.

During the meeting, BAZNAS and UMJ discussed the concept and strategy for managing the Zakat Management Laboratory, which will serve as a practical learning center. The laboratory is designed to provide hands-on experience for UMJ students in managing zakat, from planning and fundraising to transparent and accountable distribution. This initiative aims to produce a generation of youth skilled in Islamic philanthropy.


In addition to technical discussions, the meeting also addressed the preparation for the launch of the Zakat Management Laboratory at UMJ Jakarta. BAZNAS provided strategic input on data-driven management and the use of modern technology to facilitate reporting and impact analysis of zakat programs. With BAZNAS support, the laboratory is expected to become a model for modern zakat management that aligns with contemporary needs.

The college student of UMJ expressed his appreciation for the collaboration with BAZNAS RI. UMJ are committed to making the Zakat Management Laboratory (LMZ) an excellence center for studying and practicing zakat values. This is a tangible step by UMJ to support more professional zakat management in the university and Indonesia. BAZNAS expressed hope that UMJ's Zakat Management Laboratory (LMZ) could inspire other universities. This synergy is a real contribution of higher education to improving zakat management. 

With the establishment of the Zakat Management Laboratory (LMZ), UMJ Jakarta is optimistic about creating a learning ecosystem with a broad impact. The laboratory is expected to not only serve as a learning hub for students but also contribute to improving the national zakat governance system.
