24th Anniversary of BAZNAS RI: "The Light of Zakat: The Miracles of Muzaki and Mustahik"
The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia celebrated its 24th anniversary with the theme “The Light of Zakat: The Miracles of Muzaki and Mustahik” as an expression of gratitude for the benefits of zakat for muzaki (zakat givers) and mustahik (zakat recipients). The event featured the completion of 24 Qur’an recitations by BAZNAS leaders and staff across Indonesia (17/1).
Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA., emphasized the significance of zakat as a "light" for the community, purifying the wealth of muzaki and bringing hope to mustahik. He also expressed gratitude for the public's trust in BAZNAS as the official state zakat institution, in line with the mandate of Law No. 23 of 2011.
Over 24 years, BAZNAS has received more than 60 national and international awards, reflecting public confidence in its zakat management. The event was attended by notable figures, including the Chairman of BAZNAS for the 2015-2020 period, Prof. Dr. H. Bambang Sudibyo, MBA., CA., and the Chairman of the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI), Prof. Dr. Phil. H. Kamaruddin Amin, Lc., MA.
