On Monday, March 10, 2025, the Opening Ceremony of the National Zakat Index (IZN) and Zakat Impact Study (KDZ) Results Exposure took place. This event showcased the results of the 2024 assessment and was attended by Prof. Dr. K.H. Noor Achmad, Chairman of BAZNAS RI; Prof. (HC). Dr. Zainulbahar Noor, M.Ec., Head of Planning, Research, and Development; Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal, Ph.D., Director of Research and Development at the National ZIS DKSL; along with representatives from BAZNAS and LAZ across Indonesia.

During the event, Prof. Dr. K.H. Noor Achmad, in his speech, emphasized that the annual measurement of the National Zakat Index (IZN) and the Zakat Impact Study (KDZ) is an important activity that reflects the growth and progress of zakat management. He explained that IZN and KDZ serve as key tools for analyzing the performance of zakat institutions across Indonesia. By using these tools, zakat organizations can evaluate and improve their management strategies for the future. The results from IZN and KDZ help assess how well BAZNAS and other zakat institutions are working in line with their vision, mission, and strategic plans (Renstra), as well as their Annual Work and Budget Plans (RKAT).

He also expressed appreciation to BAZNAS and LAZ institutions for their participation in the 2024 IZN and KDZ assessments. A total of 422 institutions contributed, marking the highest participation rate since the IZN was introduced. He highlighted that these results are academically based, making them highly valuable for the government in shaping zakat policies. In the future, stronger collaboration between zakat institutions, the government, and other partners will help improve zakat management and its impact on society.

Prof. (HC). Dr. Zainulbahar Noor, M.Ec. further emphasized that to achieve the main goal of zakat—improving the welfare of mustahik (zakat recipients) and reducing poverty—it is essential to use data-driven research, particularly through the National Zakat Index (IZN) and the Zakat Impact Study (KDZ).

In this blessed month of Ramadhan, may all activities run smoothly and be filled with blessings and mercy from Allah SWT. Hopefully, the results of the IZN calculation will serve as a valuable resource for zakat institutions to enhance their zakat management in 2025 and beyond.
