Jakarta, 15 October 2026 - The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) officially launched its 2026-2031 Strategic Plan during the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) and Grand BAZNAS Award 2026, held in Jakarta on October 13-15, 2026. The launch marked an important milestone in strengthening the direction of national zakat policies and planning for the next five years.
Carrying the theme "Consolidating Indonesian Zakat for Greater Productivity and Impact", the Rakornas served as a strategic platform for BAZNAS institutions across Indonesia to strengthen coordination, align programs, and build a shared commitment to optimizing zakat as an instrument for improving public welfare.
The launch of the BAZNAS 2026-2031 strategic planning is also closely linked to efforts to improve zakat's impact on the welfare of mustahik, or zakat recipients. Zakat management is not only intended to address immediate needs but also to support distribution and utilization programs that promote self-reliance, strengthen economic capacity, and create opportunities for improved living standards.
In this regard, the spirit of consolidation promoted through the Rakornas provides a foundation for stronger collaboration among stakeholders in the zakat ecosystem. A shared vision, coordinated programs, and enhanced institutional capacity are expected to contribute to more effective zakat management that focuses on measurable outcomes and tangible impacts.
The launch of the BAZNAS 2026-2031 Strategic Plan also reinforces accountability through clear and measurable planning. With a shared strategic framework in place, program implementation can be evaluated periodically against established targets and performance indicators, allowing for continuous policy improvement.
The launch took place as part of the broader series of events surrounding the Grand BAZNAS Award 2026, which recognizes performance and supports institutional development within Indonesia's zakat ecosystem. Together, these events highlight the importance of connecting strategic planning with performance improvement, collaboration, and a shared commitment to enhancing the quality of zakat management.
Through the 2026-2031 Strategic Plan, BAZNAS aims to further strengthen its role in coordinating zakat management at the national level. Synergy between BAZNAS RI and regional BAZNAS institutions is essential to maximizing zakat potential, improving public services, and ensuring that zakat benefits reach communities in need effectively.
With the Strategic Plan signed by BAZNAS leaders at the national and regional levels, all institutional elements are expected to work toward a common strategic direction. This shared commitment provides a foundation for building a more integrated, productive, and impactful zakat management system that contributes to the welfare of Indonesian society.
Moving forward, successful implementation of the Strategic Plan will require consistent execution, coordination across institutional levels, and continuous evaluation. These efforts are essential to translating strategic objectives into concrete programs with measurable results. Therefore, the launch of the BAZNAS 2026-2031 Strategic Plan represents not merely the introduction of a planning document, but also a renewed commitment to strengthening zakat's contribution to Indonesia's social and economic development.
