Terengganu, 29 June 2026 - The Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Dr. Ir. H. Sodik Mudjahid, M.Sc., with the Director of the National ZIS-DSKL Studies and Development, M. Hasbi Zaenal, Ph.D., attended the Islamic Social Finance Muzakarah II 2026, organized by Sultan Zainal Abidin University (UniSZA), Malaysia.

This Muzakarah serves as a continuation of the 2025 edition and is intended to serve as an academic forum for scholars, ulama, regulators, and practitioners to discuss fatwa-related issues based on Maqashid Syariah and their implementation in the development of Islamic social finance at the institutional level.

The event was attended by muftis from various states in Malaysia, as well as representatives from Islamic social finance institutions, including Y.A.D. Dato' Setia Dr. Haji Anhar bin Haji Opir, State Mufti of Selangor; Sahibus Samahah Ahmad Fauwaz bin Haji Fadzil, Mufti of the Federal Territories; Sahibul Fadilah Ustaz Mohamad Zamri bin Mohamed Shapik, State Mufti of Penang; Ustadz Haji Ahmad Husni bin Abd. Rahman, Senior Director of Syariah & Zakat Collection Centre – MAIWP; Dr. Shamsiah binti Mohamad, Member of the Shariah Management Committee of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group; and Dr. Mohd Faisal bin Mustafa, Chief Executive Officer of the Kedah State Zakat Board (LZNK).

As part of the series of activities, the Chairman of BAZNAS RI also conducted a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of UniSZA, Prof. Dato' Dr. Fadzil bin Adam, to discuss potential strategic collaboration in the areas of research, human resource capacity development, knowledge exchange, and the advancement of zakat and Islamic social finance studies.

Through this synergy, BAZNAS RI hopes to foster research, innovation, and collaborative programs that strengthen zakat governance and enhance the contribution of Islamic social finance to public welfare and sustainable development.
