MALUA – The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) in cooperation with the Livestock and Fisheries Department (Disnakin) Enrekang held a technical guidance (bimtek) on goat maintenance for productive zakat recipients.

Using the theme 'Prospering and Improving the Mustahiq Dignity with Baznas', the event was held in the hall of Malua Subdistrict office, Enrekang District on Wednesday (3/5). The activity was followed by tens of zakat recipients (Mustahiq) in Kecamatan Malua. The speakers of the event were Chairman of Administration, General, and HR Department of BAZNAS Enrekang, Ilham Kadir, and drh. Muh. Ramadan from Disnakin.

According to Ilham, the technical guidance was done so that the recipients of goats can nurture, take care of, and breed goats according to the standards of related agencies.

"We provide funds for the procurement of goats for the mustahik in order that it can become a source of their income," said Ilham to TribunEnrekang.com on Wednesday (3/5).

Meanwhile, drh. Muh Ramadhan explained the importance of knowing things related to the goat health. He explained, in nurturing the goat, one must have knowledge about the animal. For example, if someone feed the goats by leaves that have just been taken in the morning, the goats will have abdominal pain because the leaves are still wet by dew.

"So, it is better that the food that are taken in the morning are given in the afternoon, and those that are taken in the afternoon are used to feed in the morning," said alumni of the Veterinary Faculty of Udayana University, Bali.

He added, if someone is used to and know how to take a good care of goats, the money will easily be obtained by breeding the goats.

The technical guidance was held by Baznas Enrekang simultaneously on Wednesday (3/5) in three sub-districts, namely Baraka, Malua, and Buntu Batu.
