• This study is conducted to show the productive zakat impact in 28 provinces in Indonesia with a total of 3450 respondents.
  • This study develops an index that measures the impact of productive zakat program namely BAZNAS Prosperity Index (BPI).
  • The BPI consists of three variables: (1) the CIBEST Prosperity Index (measuring the material and spiritual welfare); (2) the HDI Modification Index (measuring the impact of zakat on the education and health sector), and; (3) the Independence Index (measuring post-program sustainability).
  • If the value of BPI close to 1 (one) then the condition of the family in the area of measurement is getting better or prosperous. In other words, it means that zakat intervention in the region has given a positive impact. Conversely, if the value of BPI close to 0 (zero) then the condition of a family who already intervened by productive zakat program did not have improvement.
  • This study has shown that the average value of the BAZNAS Prosperity Index, in general, is 0.71 (good). Meanwhile, the average index in each variable is 0.79 for the CIBEST Prosperity Index, 0.71 for the HDI Modification Index, and 0.59 for the Autonomy/Independence Index.
  • The results of the BAZNAS Prosperity Index in 28 Provinces shows that the highest BPI value is 0.85 which has been achieved by five provinces which are East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, West Papua and Bengkulu province. On the other hand, the two provinces that have the lowest BPI value of 0.35 and 0.40 are Bangka Belitung and Gorontalo province.
