The National Zakat Index (IZN) is an instrument designed to measure the performance of zakat management on a national scale based on data and information. It has been developed since 2016 and is periodically implemented across all zakat management entities in Indonesia. Zakat management in Indonesia continues to evolve over time in line with changing times and is influenced by various factors such as economic conditions, social dynamics, and geopolitical factors. These developments necessitate adjustments to the foundational concept of IZN to ensure that this measurement tool remains relevant as a standard for evaluating and assessing zakat management performance in Indonesia. As a living index, IZN underwent its first adjustment in 2020, leading to the emergence of IZN 2.0. Subsequently, it was updated again in 2023, resulting in IZN 3.0. The 2023 IZN measurement marks the first year of implementation using IZN 3.0 as the conceptual foundation and data processing model.
