National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) launches 10 special programs for Ramadhan 1438 Hijri. The programs expected to give benefit for 23.150 mustahiq. There are Ramadhan Together-Happy Together, Ramadhan with Baduy Tribe, Happy Ramadhan, BAZNAS Care for Women Prisoners, Book Launching Lectures of Zakat, 99 Brilliant Mosques, Mudik Standby Team (homecoming during Ead al Fitr holidays), Umar Bin Khattab Troops, Ramadhan with Elderly, and Healthy Terrace.
Director of Distribution, Utilization, Research-Development, and National Training, Mr. Nasir Tajang explained about the programs, where the Ramadhan Together-Happy Together is a sahur and breakfasting package distribution program to the poor people. The program is held in 35 remote rural areas of ZCD program spot. The packages are shared to 5 BAZNAS Health House located at Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Sidoarjo, Makassar, and Pangkal Pinang. It aims to share happiness arround the rural people during this holy Ramadhan.
Afterwards, 99 Brilliant Mosques is a cleaning program for the strategic mosque which has many visitors or located in the densely populated location or protocols line during homecoming season.
“It aims to give stimulation and education to the public about importance of clean mosque since hygiene is also a legitimate requirement of worship acceptance" said Mr. Nasir, Thursday (18/5).
BAZNAS is also preparing BAZNAS Shelter to serve the homecoming people, such as medical service, sharing snack for breakfasting, and worship socialization for the musafir (traveler). The shelter will be placed at the homecoming line (northern and southern highway) with helped from BAZNAS Healthy House and BAZNAS Disaster Response Team.
As previous years, BAZNAS forming Umar Bin Khattab troops that is a team deployed to searching for and serving the mustahiq spread across Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi-five big cities arround the capital city of Indonesia). While Ramadhan with the Elderly is a free eyes check up program and handovering 250 medical tools for elderly, the program is held at BAZNAS Healthy House.
Chairman of BAZNAS, Mr. Bambang Sudibyo asserted, all these active services are expected to facilitate the beneficiaries get the help that is his right. He affirmed, a number of efforts made by BAZNAS through special programs aims to avoid the queues of people who often end up with chaos situation.
"To facilitate mustahiq to access emergency assistance that grip to fast, precise, and accurate principle within a maximum period of three days” said Mr. Bambang.
