Solo, September 15, 2024 – BAZNAS RI, represented by the Director of ZIS-DSKL Research and Development, M. Hasbi Zaenal, Ph.D., delivered an event titled Evaluation Training on 2023 National Zakat Index (IZN) Results for BAZNAS and LAZ of Central Java. The event was part of the Coordination Meeting of BAZNAS Chairpersons and LAZ across Central Java at the Swiss-Belinn Saripetojo Hotel, Solo.

The event aimed to strengthen zakat management for the 2024-2025 period by evaluating the 2023 IZN. M. Hasbi Zaenal, Ph.D., delivered a detailed presentation on the concept and calculation results of the 2023 IZN, which was well-received by the participants. One of the attendees, Mrs. Hasanah from BAZNAS Banyumas, expressed that the event made BAZNAS leadership more aware of the importance of the IZN. “We were made aware of the strategic role of the IZN as a driving force for zakat progress in the region. This presentation opened our eyes as leaders to how crucial the IZN is, as we had previously left it solely to the implementers,” she said.

The event also served as an important momentum to invite all BAZNAS and LAZ in Central Java to participate in the implementation of IZN 2024, which was officially launched during the Kickoff of the 2024 National Zakat Index Measurement on Thursday, August 15, 2024, by the Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA. On this occasion, all BAZNAS and LAZ were encouraged to actively contribute to the measurement and improvement of zakat management quality through IZN 2024.

The event concluded with remarks from the Chairman of BAZNAS Central Java Province, Dr. KH. Ahmad Darodji, M.Si., who praised the unity between BAZNAS and LAZ in Central Java, likening them to "one body." He also proposed a special Technical Guidance (Bimtek) session on IZN and one-day assistance for filling out the IZN forms to deepen understanding and implementation of the IZN.

In addition, BAZNAS Central Java released a special song titled "Terimakasih Muzakki" ("Thank You, Muzakki") as an expression of gratitude to zakat donors. The song is intended for use by all BAZNAS and LAZ across Indonesia as a token of appreciation to donors, in line with Allah’s command, "Lain Syakartum Laazizannakum."

The event ended with a group photo as a symbol of solidarity between BAZNAS and LAZ in Central Java, attended by 35 representatives from district/city BAZNAS and 35 LAZ, including both national branches and local independent LAZ.
